hey donnie, for some reason my skins still show the normal grey wing, along with the grey front end from the interior view and the non smoothed banner.

Good news guys : I have the March 86G working in the game now. In the screenshot you can see all four cars of this set. The March uses a GenString to select the wheels and all the skins are working. Now it's bug hunt time. Here are the ones I've seen so far : March 86G -brake lights don't work driver head moves weirdly opaque headlight covers steering wheel position is wrong Vette GTP -
driver head moves weirdly needs cockpit windows are not customizable I'll do what I can to fix these, make a shared .mas file for the common textures, and then upload the entire set either tonight or tomorrow. I have combined these with cars from several other Group C/GTP mods and it's great racing. The cars look pretty good too. They are tons of fun to race with!

One problem has been solved. The headlight covers were opaque because of the alpha channel in the image used for them. Actually, it turns out that this was not a bug. The cars sometimes raced with opaque headlight covers and sometimes with translucent covers. I am going with the translucent ones so that people can race at night if they want to. That is, if we can get them to work. On to the next one...

I finally got all the cars together into a pack and there is a .mas file with some of the shared textures. The link to the pack is in the first post. There are still some bugs in it. In all of my hacking, I somehow managed to break the ZX-T's backfires. Also the brake lights on the March 86G don't work. I replaced the driver of the March and Vette with the one from the Probe and the result is the cars do not have custom helmets any more. At least they don't have helmets sticking out of the roof. I just remembered, I saw a Vette bouncing wildly on one course where it hit a kerb hard. That should probably be addressed. I'm calling this version 0.1 and it still needs some work. I listed the bugs I've found so far and there are probably others. We should probably adopt some standards for the classes and categories also. Outl@w has expressed interest in doing some work on these cars and they will fit well with his mod so we should probably try to make the classes of these cars work with his. This can probably wait for a while but it is something to consider. Well, have it at guys.

cheers for that marvin! about the bounce, thats due to the gtr2 physics, but i posted how to fix that in the forum i add and test all cars i do/play with, with outl@w's mod so that should be our base

Alex : Please don't do anything else to the Vette for now. It's going to take a lot of work to make it work with the WC textures so the cars can have unique skins and I do not want to do it twice.

Has anyone tried the cars in the pack? I am getting a CTD when racing with the Probe and it just started. It happens when I race with only the Probe and it seems to be because of the backfire. If I comment out the backfire from the .gen file the car works fine. This is very puzzling.

Never mind. I changed the animation sequence and the material name and it's working now. I still don't know what happened because it worked fine last night, just before I packed the cars and uploaded them. Oh well.

I have spent some time with the Vette and I can't see how it looks any better than the older one. If you can post some screenshots of it in action I might change my mind. As of right now, I am not convinced.
The brakelights look good on the March.

marv try this model and brake lights and see if you like them. I redid both brake lights and fixed up some new textures. the mas file is name V2 and theres all the loose parts in the other folder.. youll see. let me know.
