I've been working on some IMSA GTP cars from the late 1980s. So far, I have a Corvette GTP, Ford Probe GTP, Nissan ZX-T, and March 86G working in the game. They all need some tweaks here and there to be perfect but they are certainly really cool cars.
This is a work in progress. It is currently at version 0.7 and there are some bugs.
The archive does not have sounds in it. The sound files are currently set to use the Renault Turbo engine from the F1-79 mod which are also in an IMSA GTP mod that I ran across. It is a simple matter to replace the .sfx file if you prefer different sounds.

Upon further review, I'll use the sounds that came with the car as I found them. It uses the Renault Turbo sounds from the F1 1979 mod. I think those will do for now. I'll have some links up shortly.

The download does not include the sound files. It does include the Seabroke Racing car from 1990 though. The .gen files are set up so the car should work well with just about any mod.

I am looking forward to seeing those Alex. I have made good progress on the Probe. I used a few body parts I had converted with the rest of the parts that you had and together they make a pretty good car. I am going to add more skins for it and some brake lights and it will be ready. Hopefully that won't take very long.
I noticed something with the Nissan ZX-T a few minutes ago - the driver's hands and steering wheel don't line up right. How does it look to you?

Those are looking good Alex.
I tried to get brake lights going for the Probe and it's giving me fits. I spent an entire day on it and now the game crashes when I leave the track. It's very frustrating. I think I am going to scrap what I did and start over.

you need to have the textures blights, blights00, blights01, & blights02.dds
headlights (material name lights / event set to lights00 (off) and lights01 (on) brakelights (material name blights / event set to blights00 (off),blights01(off) and finally blights02 (on) so you can see them!
make sure you use for the Lights00 and Blights00 and 01 transparent textures. Lights01 and Blights02 then must be the textures with lights on. make the blights02 texture brighter than the lights01 texture to see the brakelight effect.
dunno if this is the issue, but just in case it is

What I meant by my remark about the Marches at F1C is if you want to make them Spices that's cool but could you convert them straight across first and then do the tweaks to make them Spices after? This would let us have all of them. It's OK if you don't want to do that. I can probably do the conversion myself and maybe borrow your brake lights.

It looks to me like the LODin on the march_body.gmt file is set to high in the .gen file. The way it is, it is visible between 20 and 350m so, since you are within 20m at that viewpoint, it is invisible. The Probe has its LODin at 0.0 and LODout at 700.0.

I got the Probe in fairly good working order. I had to hack the brakelights to get them to work and it was very frustrating. If you know of a decent modeller that could help, it needs a little tuning on its normals, particularly on the body above the rear wheels. There are some other places too but unfortunately that is way beyond my capability. Some shortcuts were taken on the windows of this car so they are a bit lacking and the helmet is a weird one so none of the textures from GTR2 work for it.
Link moved to first post.
I added every livery I could find for it so there are 11 cars in the pack. It is set to use the same sounds as the ZX-T right now - Renault Turbo V6 from F1-79. Have fun with it. BTW - it is set up to be "independent" so it doesn't use any other .mas files and it can work with any mod in any directory because the SearchPaths are relative. The ZX-T is like this also so you can use them with any Group C/GTP mod that you want.
I'll do some more work on the ZX-T next. I'll try to fix the steering wheel alignment and I also noticed that the front winglets look weird so I'll try to sort them out. After that, the Vette GTP needs brakelights and some work on the driver helmet.
