I've been searching for awhile and haven't found anything other than unanswered threads asking the same question...
I know its possible. but what programs, and processes are needed to convert cars from SCGT to RFactor.
I've got a stash of old cars I'd love to have for personal use... I would ask permission but the primary author hasn't replied to anyone's attempts to contact him for many years now...
any help would be greatly appriciated.

If I recall correctly, a program called MAspuce is used to unpack the files. From there on it's just normal conversion stuff with 3DsimEd mostly.
Over the years I converted tons of cars from SCGT. Most were of very low quality relative to today's cars. I still have a lot of them too and even more that I didn't get around to. Let me know what ones you are doing or are interested in and I might have them done or some similar to them. You can use PMs if you prefer.

the specific ones I'm after: I've still got Burd Phillips' mid 90's IMSA GTO and GTU carsets tucked away in an old email account
I know the quality isnt all there but for personal use with the GTP field they'll do fine
theres a handful of others I'd convert for fun... like JayBlade's Mach 5

Cool! Sounds like fun. I don't think I have those cars.

As they're low quality, shouldn't take much more than few minutes to upload everything you have..
