btw Marvin, those BMW CSL's in the screenshots above, have you uploaded them? I don't recognize the skins from the CSL Turbo pack.

Those are the IMSA BMWs and I haven't uploaded them yet. I am fighting with a CTD issue right now so they aren't quite ready.
Just to clarify - the game crashes on exit, not during loading obviously.
Actually, I am working on the Corvettes mostly now. I am sorting out material properties on the 13 body styles.

Well, Mr. Cheeveer I have good news and bad news. The good news is there is one body style of the Greenwood Corvette with an open top. The bad news is there is just one skin for it. Templates are available at no-grip though. The 914 has at least one open top car too. I have just a few more bodies to do and the car will be ready for downloading. This will be a full update of the car since all .veh files had to be changed. It should be ready very soon. Some time this week most likely.

I am not entirely sure why I only did one body style originally. It was probably because style 6 had the most skins and I wanted to move on to other cars. Anyway, there will be thirty skins in the revised Corvette and it turns out that most body styles actually do have wings. A few have really wild splitters too.

Hehe, it wasn't me that asked for an open-top Vette. Didn't know that a Greenwood Vette had one! I'm mostly interested in the far out GTX cars (the JLP car got almost 800bhp according to the GTL mod!) or the 1976 Le Mans car. Thanks for pointing that out though!
I'm also working on new cockpit files and physics for the little Celica. I'll try to figure out how to get the tachometers working correctly too.

Oh, I'm sorry. I guess that was zychotic1. I thought I had the cockpit files working right on the Celica. That is, except for the camera location. Regardless, if you want to sort it out I will be most appreciative. It's fairly easy to get a tach to work, usually. Actually, it's the same for all gauges. They have a line like this : TachometerRange=(0.0, 10000.0, 200.0, 330.0) The first two numbers are the minimum and maximum RPM values and the next two are the angles of the needle that correspond to those values - here 0 RPM will be at 200 degrees and 10000 RPM at 330 degrees. You can either eyeball those angles or use a protractor image to figure them out which I have done a few times. I'm not sure how the needle values figure into it exactly but I believe they define the center of rotation for the needle image. So far, I haven't had to mess with those much, thankfully.

yup that was me, there had been an open topped vette entered in sebring untill the early 80's so i knew there was one IRL.... but i didnt intend for it to just be a greenwood, as there where other vette builders out there, granted the greenwoods are the most extreme looking

There are other open-topped Vettes in the Historix mod. You can always paint more skins for the Greenwood car if you want to.

I hope you can release one at a time as you finish with them. Are sure they need to be repainted? I seem to recall a screen or two that you posted and those cars looked just fine. I have all of the Corvettes going except for one - the open top car. I have a problem with some gauges and something weird with the cockpit on it. Hopefully those issues can be sorted out quickly.

Ironic? lol I'm a history major, that's why I'm so obsessed with making all these "accurate" physics files for all the cars! But I enjoy it. WIll share another set of physics files for those who want them sometime next week (which is when I expect having finished all of them).

Version 2 of the Greenwood Corvettes has been uploaded. This archive includes 31 skins on 13 body styles with 17 types of wheel. These files can be installed over the top of the previous version (included in car pack 1) if you allow overwriting. You can also delete your previous version if you prefer. Painting templates are available at www.nogripracing.com/. For your reference, the cars with big rear wings are body styles 5,6,7,8,B,C,& D. There is one problem that I was unable to solve. I couldn't get the actual tachometer texture for the open top car to show up correctly. There is some other texture there but the needle on the gauge works right. Sorry about that. If someone manages to fix it please let me know. Happy Racing !
