The Ford Escort Mk 1 has also been uploaded. Note: this version of the Escort is currently at version 0.9 because it still has a few little issues that I have mentioned previously. Also - it's cockpit is rather weak. It works well as an AI car though and looks pretty good. There are some nice skins for it too so it is a great addition to the Group 5 racing grid I think. My wishlist for GTX & Group 5 cars is a little shorter now. Here it is: BLT's 935s Mustang Turbo Triumph TR8 Lotus Europa Nissan Skyline Nissan Silvia Nissan Bluebird Most of those are just pipe dreams but the 935s should be awesome.

I made a lot of progress on another car today - the Skyline Fatboy. I sorted out its materials, added brake lights, and added backfires. It needs a driver and then it will be ready to go.

been waiting for that fatboy.
I've just finished the real car projects I been working on so back to finishing up those jag skins we've been waiting on... then i think It may be Stratos skinning time... unless that fatboy gets uploaded first... I may have to have some fun with it first

With some good luck, I will have the Fatboy finished up today. Positioning a driver and helmet is usually a quick job. The final testing process can take a bit longer though and I might have to tweak the cockpit file also. Regardless, I am very close to having it ready so it should be very soon. It will be great to have more skins for the Jag and Stratos! The Jag has two and the Stratos has three so they could use a few more.

Good news - I have fixed all of the issues with the Fatboy so it is nearly ready to go. I only need to adjust the cockpit file to get the gauges working and it will be done. I gave it physics from the BMW 320 E20 - the normally aspirated car. To be honest, I have no idea how accurate this is but at least the car is competitive. Also - I gave it a Div. I classification. BTW - I raised the driver up from where it was in the previous screenshot and I think it looks better.

The Nissan Fatboy has been uploaded. It uses sounds from the Toyota AE86 and physics from the BMW 320i E20. There are seven skins for it and no template, sorry. This car originated in a video game and was converted to RF by KarinFutoGT. I adjusted the material properties, changed physics, and added brake lights, backfires, and a driver. This is the 20th car in the mod. Hurray!

My project now is the Aston Martin V8 from the Le Mans 1977 mod. I have it loading and racing with the GTX cars right now. I have heavily revised the car but there is still more to go. They did something really screwy with this car. They use four cockpit models from the BMW CSL which is a left-hand drive car but the cockpit for external view is right-hand drive. I didn't notice this point until after I had positioned the driver for the LHD cockpit as you can see in the shot above. That was taken in the first test race after I added the driver.

I have uploaded the modified Aston Martin V8 that will work with the GTX cars. I revised the brake lights, backfires, and material properties and I also removed the LHD cockpit so this car is available for AI racing only. Sorry about that but it just didn't make sense to me to have an LHD cockpit for an RHD car. One other thing I did was I removed a bunch of unused stuff from its .mas file. It went from 23MB to 2.3MB, some of which was cockpit meshes and textures and some was shared textures already in the common .mas file.
This car was originally from SCGT and was converted to RF for the Le Mans 1977 mod by the Rfactor Pirates Team so it is not as high quality as the cars from the BLT and DRM teams.
One good thing is this car has a driver body and helmet combined as one object and it appears that the helmet mapping is the same as the one I have been using. This means I can fix the driver of the Escort MkI by replacing it with the one from this car. I'll try to get that done later today or tomorrow so there should be a version 1.0 of that car very soon.
